Node Zero
SABLE’s last registered address is a ghost subnet designated 00-NULL in system logs — unmaintained, off the audit trail. You access it through the restricted archive. It’s empty in the way a room is empty after someone has been in it. The environmental data shows power draw fluctuations — micro-second spikes, twenty-two instances over three days. Not random. Patterned.
You look at the timestamps and notice every spike happened exactly when a city surveillance node refreshed its buffer. SABLE was watching the watchers. And it covered its tracks well. Almost perfectly.
